Mountain View Elementary School commemorated the 9/11 attacks on Wednesday with a special flag-raising ceremony at 8:30 a.m. Students and staff gathered outside the school to witness the raising of a Freedom Flag, the symbol of remembrance of Sept. 11, 2001. The flag is also used to teach students about the tragic events and the lives lost 23 years ago. Mountain View students and staff were encouraged to wear red, white, and blue today in honor of 9/11.
