WARM SPRINGS- The Bath County Chargers, led by star quarterback Wyatt Campbell, have had the kind of start to their season that most teams only ever dream about. Only two games into the season and the Chargers have a 41-6 win and a 55-0 win. Scores that show Bath’s complete dominance of the football field. They will be facing off against the Richwood Lumberjacks this Friday the 13th, in a home game matchup involving two teams from two states with one hoping to walk away with a win and bragging rights.

The Charger Offense thus far has been able to move the ball at will with a powerful run game centered around quarterback Wyatt Campbell and running back Ethan Bryant, and an air attack threatening enough to give any defensive coach a headache. The Chargers offense has been nothing short of explosive. The offense cannot get all the glory though. You cannot hold opponents to single digit scoring without an impressive defense. Their linemen have been nothing short of great, pretty much stopping opponents from getting anywhere trying to run up the middle and recording sacks in both games. Not to mention the Chargers secondary taking care of anything that makes it around the end and into the secondary. The Charger’s defense has been unbeatable so far.

Richwood, on the other hand, is still hungry and searching for a win, coming off an unfortunate 49-8 loss against Webster County. The Lumberjacks were senior heavy last year and lost the core of their team due to seniors graduating. Coach Jon Malcomb believes this 2024 team has the potential to be even better than the team before. His current team has the best attitude of any team he has coached, and they have not been afraid to put in the extra work to make certain they know the ins-and-outs of their earned position. One thing for sure, they have a grueling task in front of them, but it is a task they have practiced for, and the Chargers are going to have to earn it.

The game will be held on Friday September 13th at Bath County High School. It will kick off at 7:00PM. Bring your entire family out to watch the Chargers go for three in a row against the Richwood Lumberjacks.
