Margaret Ann Nicely Whiting
Margaret Ann Nicely Whiting, age 82, of Clifton Forge, Virginia passed away on Friday September 6, 2024 at her residence.
She was born October 8, 1941 in Alleghany County to the late James Everett and Annie Lee Nicely. She was a registered nurse, retiring as director of nursing for Bath County Community Hospital and then worked for Alleghany Public Schools as a School Nurse. Margaret was a long time member of Lone Star Advent Christian Church, Bethesda Church, and Living Stones Ministries. She was on the board of the Executive Council of Advent Christian Church for many years. Margaret was the founder and president of Hilltop Ministries. Her love in life was showing God’s love to children.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Frederick Lisle “Fred” Whiting in 2021.
She is survived by a daughter, Jodi Vaughn (Scott) of Clifton Forge; a brother, Richard Nicely of Clifton Forge; four grandchildren, Michelle Vaughn, Kerri Vaughn (Silvio), Forrest Vaughn (Makenzie) and T.J. Whiting (Donna); five great grandchildren, Oliver Vaughn, Sutton Vaughn, Bryson Whiting, Brayden Whiting, and Brantley Whiting; and a number of nieces and nephews including a special niece, Theresa Nicely and special nephew, Jeff Nicely.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 13, 2024 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Reverend Mike Rollins officiating. Interment will follow in Sharon Baptist Church Cemetery, Clifton Forge. Pallbearers will be Luke Lyons, Randy Whiting, Stanley Bush, Travis Anderson, Matt Anderson, and Eli Crush. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Nicely Funeral Home.
