Joseph Eldon “Joe” Corbett
Joseph Eldon “Joe” Corbett, age 62, of 4926 Johnson Creek Road, Covington, Virginia died on Thursday, August 22, 2024 at Lewis Gale Medical Center in Salem.
Joe was born on July 22, 1962 in Clifton Forge, Virginia to the late Charles Eldon and Mary Frances Beverage Corbett. He was a graduate of Clifton Forge High School and a welder for WestRock. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, farm work, gardening, and family cookouts, but especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, William King.
He is survived by his wife, Stacey King Corbett, his son, Devin Corbett and wife Madison, his mother-in-law, Pauline King, and two grandchildren, Jack Corbett and Luke Corbett, all of Covington; a sister, Mary Johnson and husband Jerry of Clifton Forge; sister-in-law, Kitty King; brother-in-law, Willie King; nephews, Joseph Coffman, Calvin Coffman, and Jeremiah Johnson; and numerous cousins.
In keeping with his wishes, his body has been cremated. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 29, 2024 at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home with Mr. Shorty Wolfe officiating. The family will visit with friends on Wednesday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Nicely Funeral Home.
The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to the Dunlap Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department, 4115 Midland Trail, Covington, VA 24426.
