Sharon Elementary School teachers make “spotlight” presentation

Sharon Elementary School teachers Liza Carroll and Connie Puckett made a “spotlight” presentation at the Alleghany Highlands School Board meeting August 19. They provided a demonstration of vocabulary teaching techniques that align with Responsive Classroom teaching techniques also in use in the school division. Recent Sharon students Ashtyn Crawford, Gwen Halterman, Hayleigh Dotson, and Haley Jonas assisted them in presenting an example of the interactive ways in which they learned academic vocabulary as Sharon fifth graders last academic year.
