Donald Arnold “Don” Roberts
Donald Arnold “Don” Roberts, age 90, of 315 Wintergreen Avenue, Clifton Forge, Virginia died on Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at Alleghany Health and Rehabilitation Center in Clifton Forge.
Don was born on August 10, 1934 in Kimble, West Virginia to the late Arnold E. and Lennie Willis Roberts. He was the Manager of A & P Grocery Store in Clifton Forge, Bluefield, and Pulaski for 45 years, and was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. He loved Cars, Dallas Cowboys football, and watching westerns and wrestling on TV.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy McPeak; a son, Donald “Donnie” Roberts; and a sister, Shirley Sims.
He is survived by his wife, Edith D. Roberts of Clifton Forge; a son, Rickey Roberts and wife Kathy of Dublin; a daughter-in-law, Suzanne Roberts of Radford; a sister, Brenda Fox; and a number of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 23, 2024 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Pastor Luke Benton officiating. Interment will follow in Central Advent Christian Cemetery, Clifton Forge. Pallbearers will be selected from friends and family attending the service. The family will receive friends on Friday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of service at Nicely Funeral Home.
