The Alleghany Historical Society is sponsoring the third Festival of Trees at the Covington C&O Depot. A silent auction will be held on trees, wreaths, garlands and gifts until Monday from 4-6 p.m. The successful bidder will be notified by phone and may pick up their item after 6:15 p.m. Monday. Proceeds will go toward the restoration of the Masonic Theatre and other society projects.
Please visit the depot during regular hours on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday from 2-4 p. m. Saturday, Santa, courtesy of Ottmer Newcomb, will visit the depot after the Covington Christmas parade.
Pictures with Santa will be available and light refreshments will be served.
Our exhibits features a collection of nativity scenes from all over the world on loan from the Rev. Jamie Pharr, the Polar Express model train layout owned by Paul Linkenhoker and model cars of the famed Chessie passenger train and M1 steam turbine locomotive owned by Horton Beirne.
