CLIFTON FORGE – Harriet Elizabeth Walkup, 72, of The Woodlands Nursing Home, Clifton Forge, formerly of 306 Church Street, Clifton Forge, died Monday, Nov. 16, 2009 at Alleghany Regional Hospital, Low Moor.
She was born in Clifton Forge Oct. 15, 1937, a daughter of the late James and Lilly Mason Moss. She was a retired secretary with Social Security Administration and a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, William Clarence Walkup.
She is survived by two daughters, Kimberly Deitz and husband Jason, and Sarah Hoke, both of Clifton Forge; and four grandchildren, John Walkup, Jami Lyons, Liliana Hoke, and Jay Lynn Deitz.
A funeral service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with the Rev. Reverend Bill Dillon and Elder Alfred Dearing officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Clifton Forge.
Pallbearers will be selected from friends and family attending the service.
The family will receive friends this evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at Nicely Funeral Home.
