HOT SPRINGS - Frances L. “Tootie” Back, 81, of 111 Ashwood Dr., Hot Springs, passed away Monday afternoon Dec. 14, 2009, at Bath Coommunity Hospital in Hot Springs.
She was born Oct. 26, 1928, in Millboro, the daughter of Howard H. Brinkley and Cora Hodge Brinkley.
She was married to Norwood “Gene” Back who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Back was a retired seamstress from The Homestead Resort. She was a member of Woodland Union Church.
She is survived by a sister, Evelyn Ryder of Hot Springs; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Durward Brinkley, Norman Brinkley and Winfred Brinkley; and two sisters, Genieve Clark and Juanita Loan.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m., Thursday at Woodland Community Church with the Rev. David George officiating. Interment will be in Woodland Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Paul Clark, Billy Deitz, James Baldwin, Carl McCune, Mathew Adams, and Steve Foster.
The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to service Thursday from 1 to 2 p.m.p.m., or any time at the home of Evelyn Ryder.
