PATRICK COUNTY, Va. (VR) – Virginia State Police is investigating a single-vehicle crash, which resulted in a fatality. The crash occurred on Monday (Aug 5) at 7:35 p.m. on Route 58, two tenths of a mile east of Route 831 in Patrick County.
A 2014 Chevrolet Malibu was traveling east on Route 58, when the vehicle ran off the right side of the roadway, struck the guardrail and the embankment.
The driver of the Chevrolet was identified as William Aiden Royall, 19, of Stuart, Va. Mr. Royall was not wearing his seatbelt and died at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
