Michael O. Woodzell, 55, of 68 Triple Oak Lane, Hot Springs, Virginia, died Sunday, December 27, 2009 at the Roanoke Memorial Hospital, in Roanoke, Virginia.
He was born December 18, 1954 in Hot Springs, the son of Robert “Bobby” Woodzell and Nellie McCray Woodzell. He was married to Linda Black Woodzell, whom he married on November 26, 1977.
Mr. Woodzell was formerly employed in the carpentry shop of the Homestead Resort with over 30 years of service. He was a member of Life Line Ministries, the National Rifle Association and the National Wild Turkey Federation. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. He enjoyed playing music with family and friends and was a member of the country band “The Rebels” for over 25 years.
He is survived by his parents, Robert “Bobby” Woodzell and Nellie McCray Woodzell of Hot Springs; his wife Linda Black Woodzell of Hot Springs, Virginia; two children, Susan McRoberts & husband Thomas and Michael “Manny” Woodzell all of Hot Springs; a special son, Jared Hannah of Hot Springs; a brother, Tony Woodzell & wife Sharrie of Warm Springs, Virginia; a sister, Michele Shaver & husband Bob of Advance, North Carolina; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at Life Line Ministries with Reverend Lennie Stinnett officiating.
The family will receive friends immediately following the services at the Multipurpose Center of Life Line Ministries or anytime at the house.
