WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W. Va. (WVDN) – Intersport announced plans to host the first women’s college basketball game at The Greenbrier when Radford takes on Navy on Nov. 17. It will be the first women’s college basketball game played at the resort, which is situated in the picturesque foothills of the Allegheny Mountains, and adds to a robust slate of basketball over a stretch of 10 days inside Colonial Hall from Nov. 15-24.

Game time and ticket information will be made available at a later date. Fans can stay up to date with the latest news and information by registering at www.greenbriertipoff.com/radford-navy.

Radford and Navy have met six times previously, each winning three of those games. The most recent meeting came on Dec. 22, 2008, a game won by Navy, 61-44.

Head coach Mike McGuire will be entering his 12th season leading the Radford program, making him the longest-tenured coach in school history during the Division I era. His 178 victories at the Division I level are a program record, most among active Big South coaches and he has led teams to two conference regular season championships and one tournament title. The Highlanders return a strong core from the previous season and welcome nine transfers and freshmen to create an exciting and athletic roster.

Navy is set to return five of its top six scorers, each of which started at least 18 games for the program last season, paced by rising sophomore Zanai Barnett-Gay. She led the team at 18.2 points and nearly 3.0 steals per game en route to earning first-team All-Conference and Rookie of the Year honors. The team, which is led by fifth-year head coach Tim Taylor, finished the year with nine wins during Patriot League play in 2023-24, the most since 2018.

The Greenbrier is the premium vacation destination fit for any personality, from luxury shopping and dining experiences to championship-level golf and other outdoor adventures. In total, the resort features more than 55 indoor and outdoor activities, more than 35 retail shops, five golf courses, 20 dining and lounge venues, signature spa services and an on-property casino on more than 11,000 acres. Recently, the Resort was named America’s Best Luxury Hotel by Men’s Health Magazine and was voted a semifinalist for The Most Instagrammable Hotel in the World by Luxury Travel Advisor.

In total, Intersport will stage nine college basketball games at The Greenbrier in November, eight of which will be held as part of the Greenbrier Tip-Off men’s basketball events on Nov. 15-16 and 22-24. The complete schedule can be found below:
