Drucilla Lair Greene, 79, of 1608 W. Jackson St., died Saturday, Nov. 21, 2009, at The Woodlands, Clifton Forge.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Earl J. Rhodenizer.
Mrs. Greene was born Dec. 18, 1929, in Goshen, the daughter of the late Robert Elmer Lair and Gertrude Copper Lair.
She was a former employee of Purkey Florist in Covington and currently a homemaker. She was a member of First Christian Church.
The last surviving member of her family, she enjoyed gardening and working in her flower beds.
She is survived by a son, Stephen G. Rhodenizer of Covington; a daughter, Antoinette “Toni” Rhodenizer; two grandchildren, Stephen G. Rhodenizer Jr. and Courtney Brooke Rhodenizer; a special niece, Peggy Ailstock; her best friend, her beagle, “Dixie.”
In addition to her parents, Robert Elmer Lair and Gertrude Copper Lair, and first husband, Earl J. Rhodenizer, she was preceded in death by her second husband, C.E. “Sonny” Greene; four brothers and six sisters.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Loving Funeral Home, with the Rev. Bill Gilliland officiating. Interment will follow in Alleghany Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Stephen Rhodenizer Jr., G.O. Ailstock, Mike Campbell, Mike Jones, David Huffman, and Joseph Cintron.
The family will receive friends this evening from 7 until 8:30 p.m. at Loving Funeral Home.
