RONCEVERTE, W.Va. – Janet Booth Hunter, 67, of Ronceverte, W.Va., went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ Sunday, Jan 3, 2010.
Mrs. Hunter was born Oct. 2, 1942, on Johnsons Creek in Alleghany County, the youngest daughter of the late Henderson and Violet Reed Booth.
She was a 1959 graduate of the former Dunlap High School and enjoyed a life as a wife, mother, and homemaker. Janet was a loving daughter, wife, mother and grandmother and friend who will be greatly missed by all of those who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her oldest brother, Clifford Booth; two brothers-in-law, Ray Crawford and Joe Ash; and an infant grandson, Jon Adam Hunter.
Surviving are her best friend and husband of 50 years, Frank C. Hunter of Ronceverte, W.Va.; four sons and daughters-in-law, Rick and Brenda Hunter of Fairlea, W.Va., Frnak and Cheryl Hunter III of Princeton, W.Va., Chris and Sheila Hunter and Marc and Jill Hunter, all of Union, W.Va.; three daughters, Teresa Koon and her husband, Terry of Lewisburg, W.Va., Debi Farley and her husband, Howard, of White Sulphur Springs, W.Va., and Corky Hunter of Ronceverte, W Va.; one brother, Daryol Booth and his wife, Judi of Covington; two sisters, Delores Crawford and her husband, Al, and Opal Ash, all of Sinks Grove, W.Va.; 21 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
As generous in death as she was in life, Janet donated her body to the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine.
A memorial service in her honor will be conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. in The Church of Jesus at Fairlea with the Rev. Koon officiating.
The family suggests memorial donations in Mrs. Hunter’s name be made to The Church of Jesus, P.O. Box 1848, Lewisburg, W.Va. 24901.
