W H I T E S U L P H U R SPRINGS, W.Va. – Nellie Imogene Waggoner Kelly, of White Sulphur Springs, W.Va., passed away Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2009, at White Sulphur Springs Family Care Center.

She was born at Alvon, W.Va., the daughter of the late William Clark Waggoner and Resulthia Ellen Waggoner.

She was a member of Greenbrier Valley Baptist Church for many years, was a Sunday school teacher, and sang in the choir. Mrs. Kelly retired from The Greenbrier as head telephone operator after 38 years of service.

Mrs. Kelly was preceded in death by two daughters, Rose Kelly Wright and Bonnie Sue Kelly; and a daughter-in-law, Bonnie Kelly.

She is survived by her husband of almost 71 years, Samuel S. Kelly at home; one daughter, Shirley (Wayne) MacCartney of Irvine, Calif.; two sons, William (Bill) Kelly Sr. and fiancé, Donna Cush, and John (Cynthia) Kelly, both of White Sulphur Springs; seven grandchildren; and six great- grandchildren.

A funeral service will be Saturday at Greenbrier Valley Baptist Church in White Sulphur Springs at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Lloyd Camp and the Rev. A.C. Hollins officiating.

Entombment will follow in Greenbrier Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Lewisburg, W.Va.

The family will receive friends Saturday at the church, beginning one hour prior to the funeral service.

The family suggests that expressions of sympathy be made to Greenbrier Valley Baptist Church, P.O. Box 486, White Sulphur Springs, W.Va. 24986.

Shanklin Funeral Home, White Sulphur Springs, is handling funeral arranagements.
