Lewis Bertrand Wright, 80, of 800 Ridgeway St., Scott Hill Clifton Forge, died Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2009, at his residence.
He was born May 11, 1929, in Alleghany County, a son of the late Luther B. Wright and Leon Betty May.
Mr. Wright was a meat cutter for over 30 years in Dallas, Texas. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed fishing at Douthat State Park.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Wright was preceded in death by two daughters, Jathina Lou Hinkle and Iva Jane Vaugh; and a brother, Harold T. Wright.
Surviving are two sons, Everette Wright of Richmond and Harold Wright and his wife, Judy, of Dallas, Texas; two daughters, Leona Betty Alvis and her husband, Kenneth, of Sumter, S.C., and Linda Bea Wheatley and her husband, Gary, of Eden, N.C.; 17 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one brother, Charles A. Wright and his wife, Shelby, of Newport News; and one sister, Betty Ottavino and her husband, Cliff, of Covington; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Lone Star Cemetery with the Rev. William M. Hartsfield officiating.
Friends wishing to attend the service should assemble at Arritt Funeral Home by 10:30 a.m.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service time at Arritt Funeral Home.
