ORGAN CAVE, W.Va. (AP) – A group of Organ Cave residents is asking the state Supreme Court for help in their annexation battle with Ronceverte.
Attorney William Turner says he filed an appeal with the high court on Tuesday challenging a circuit judge’s dismissal of the residents’ lawsuit.
Earlier this year, Ronceverte annexed a residential development and the roads leading to it in Organ Cave.
The residents contend annexation will be bad for the small community, which is home to the cave system also called Organ Cave, a tourist attraction.
Greenbrier County Circuit Judge James Rowe ruled in August that the residents have no legal standing to file the suit. He also said they showed no real evidence of potential harm from the annexation.
