Morris Hamilton Drumheller, Sr, 96, husband of Carol Whanger Drumheller, passed away Sunday, July 21, 2024. Born in Covington, VA, he was the son of the late Leonard Hamilton and Laura Morris Drumheller.
A retired paper maker with Westvaco (currently West Rock) in Covington, Virginia, Morris enjoyed gardening and being in his woodshop. He was a devoted member of the Parrish Court United Methodist Church in Covington, VA and member of Georgetown First United Methodist Church in Georgetown upon moving to Georgetown. A retired veteran of the Virginia National Guard, he was a devoted family man and loved attending events with family to support his children and grandchildren.
In addition to his wife of 58 years, he is survived by his children, Gregory Dean (Ellen) Woodruff and Morris “Moe” H. Drummheller, Jr; grandchildren, Gregory Allen Woodruff, Amanda Leigh (Nathan) Stewart, Kenedi Paige (Andrew) Jackson, Kamryn Faith Drumheller and Kaden Parker Drumheller; great grandchildren, Vincent Woodruff, Abigale Stewart, William Stewart and Madelyn Jackson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Laura Leigh Drumheller Thomas and his siblings, Gertrude O’Brien, Edna Davis, Ernie Drumheller, Harold Drumheller and Noah Drumheller.
A memorial service will be 1 PM Thursday at Georgetown First United Methodist Church, conducted Pastor Andrew Singh. Visitation will be 12 PM till service time.
