CLIFTON FORGE — Clifton Forge Town Manager Darlene Burcham will be taking a job in Pulaski.
Burcham was named interim Pulaski town manager Tuesday. She will assume her new post July 1.
Burcham has been Clifton Forge town manager since 2010. Her decision to leave the Clifton Forge job was announced in December.
Burcham will serve as interim town manager in Pulaski until a permanent manager can be hired.
Burcham will replace current Town Manager Shawn Utt, who is leaving to become Smyth County administrator.
Pulaski hired Burcham through the Berkley Group, a consulting firm that provides interim services through a pool of retired managers and administrators.
Pulaski began advertising for a permanent town manager on Monday. According to the town’s website, the position will pay $100,000 to $130,000 annually.
Pulaski has a population of appropriately 9,100.
In announcing her decision to leave Clifton Forge in December, Burcham said she no longer had support from a majority of town council members.
Burcham’s last day in Clifton Forge is June 30.
