ALLEGHANY HIGHLANDS PUBLIC SCHOOL BOARD MEETING
At the conclusion of closed session on Monday, May 13, 2024 the School Board took the following personnel action:
The School Board approved the appointments of Sharon L. Boggs as School Counselor at Alleghany High School. Also approved was Karen A. Nephew as CTE/Agriculture Teacher at Covington Middle School. The school board also approved Lora R. Downey as Special Education Teacher at Jeter-Watson Elementary School. Hannah M. Johnson was approved as Teacher at Mountain View Elementary School. Katelyn M. Riley was approved as Teacher at Sharon Elementary School. Also approved was Benjamin W. Nicely; and Edith D. Sizemore; both as Full Time Bus Drivers.
The School Board accepted the resignations of Angel N. Robertson; Occupational Therapist Assistant; Tereva M. Blake; Secretary; Amy H. Conner; Media Library Specialist; Seth A. Davis; Winter Indoor Track Varsity Assistant Coach; Hannah M. Snyder; Volleyball Varsity Assistant Coach; all at Alleghany High School. The Board also accepted the resignation of Jason M. Bowman; Social Studies Teacher; Karen Y. Jordan; Cheerleading Head Coach; Debra M. Rusmisel; Track Assistant Coach; Allison B. Fox; Track Head Coach; and Laramie B. McCallister; Volleyball Head Coach; all at Covington Middle School. The School Board also accepted the resignation of Zakalia K. Davis; Paraprofessional; and Samantha R. Snook; Special Education Teacher; both at Jeter-Watson Elementary School. The Board also accepted the resignation of Erin S. Gilbert; Teacher at Mountain View Elementary School.
The School Board accepted the retirements of Deborah R. Woodzell; Food Services at Covington Middle School; Jackie C. Moore; Paraprofessional/SPED at Jeter-Watson Elementary School; Alan E. Brie; Full Time Bus Driver; and Kathleen M. Sexton; Full Time Bus Driver.
