The recovery court collaborates with the city of Covington
In honor of Alcohol Awareness Month, Alleghany Highlands Community Services shined a spotlight on the valuable collaboration between Recovery Court participants and the City of Covington Public Works. Throughout April, individuals in the Recovery Court program actively raised awareness about alcohol-related issues while joining forces with the Public Works department to benefit their community.
Recovery Court plays a crucial role in assisting individuals struggling with addiction by offering a structured and supportive environment for their journey to recovery. Through comprehensive treatment, counseling, and supervision, program participants are equipped with the necessary resources to conquer addiction and rebuild their lives. Alcohol Awareness Month serves as a reminder of the significance of addressing alcohol misuse and its widespread impact on individuals, families, and communities.
The partnership between Recovery Court participants and the City of Covington Public Works highlights the effectiveness of collaborations in driving positive change. Through activities like trash pickup, participants not only enhance the aesthetics of their surroundings but also find purpose and fulfillment through meaningful community service. This collaboration showcases the strength of collective efforts in tackling societal issues and illustrates the potential for local agencies to make a lasting difference.
“As we observed Alcohol Awareness Month and acknowledged the contributions of Recovery Court participants, we were inspired by the transformative nature of recovery and the importance of backing individuals on their path to sobriety. By fostering partnerships, community involvement, and a shared dedication to combat alcohol misuse, we can unite to build healthier and safer communities for everyone,” said Ingrid Barber, Executive Director.
