Edith Lacks

Edith Persinger Lacks, 83, of 234 W. Parrish St., died, Thursday, April 9, 2020, at the Brian Center Rehabilitation and Nursing Care in Low Moor.
Mrs. Lacks was born June 29, 1936, in Alleghany County a daughter of the late Hazel and Nellie Smith Persinger.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her Husband, Freddie Monroe Lacks, in 2008, one sister and five brothers.
She was a loving mother and grandmother.
Surviving are her children Freddie M. Lacks Jr. and wife Penny, Julie Rucker and husband Jerry, and Cissy Hoke and husband Ronnie all of Covington, eight grandchildren, Amanda Rucker and Barry Holestin, Ann Marie Newton and her husband, Jessee, Jeremy Rucker, Adam Lacks and his wife, Morgan, Mackenzie Lacks,  Laura Forbes and her  husband Henry, Andy Hoke and Kristin Owens all of Covington, Shawn Lacks and  his wife, Kelly, of Lexington, twelve great grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
In keeping with the guidelines of the current pandemic crisis, a Private Graveside service will be held Saturday, April 11, 2020, in Alleghany Memorial Park Mausoleum with the Rev. Billy Price officiating.
