Richard Michael Irvine, 48, of 612 West Hawthorne Street died Thursday morning, May 28, 2020, at his home.
Mr. Irvine was born September 20, 1971, in Alleghany County a son of Virginia Thompson Irvine Biggs of Hot Springs and the late Boyd Irvine.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Cecil Irvine.
He had retired from Boxley Quarries in Blue Ridge.
Surviving in addition to his mother are his son, Gabriel Michael Irvine, of Covington;  his daughter, Faith Marie Irvine, of Covington; three sisters, Betty Mabry and her husband, Perry, of Covington,  Marsha Sargeant of Wirt, W.Va., and Angie Perry of Glasgow; one brother, Frank Irvine of Covington;  his companion, Danette O’Conner, of Covington, and several nieces and nephews. 
In keeping with the guidelines of the current pandemic crisis, a graveside service will be held Saturday, May 30, 2020, at 2:00 PM in Cedar Hill Cemetery with Rev. Bill Gilliland officiating.
The family will gather one hour prior to service at Arritt Funeral Home. 
Arritt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
