Clifton Forge Police Chief Chad Wickline and First Sergeant Anthony Nicely have just completed a press conference regarding a possible homicide at 907 Jefferson Street in Clifton Forge earlier today.
They said the deceased apparently suffered head injuries but the investigation remains in its early stages.
A person of interest is being sought and it has been stressed by both Nicely and Wickline that the individual has left the state and they are working with law enforcement agencies in Georgia to locate his whereabouts.

Clifton Forge Mayor Jeff Irvine reiterated their comments on his personal Facebook page and stresses that “everyone is safe in Clifton Forge.”
Out of respect for the deceased’s family, a name was not released until the family could be notified.
An official release and further details will be made available as the investigation proceeds.
