Sharon Kay Carpenter Harvey, 71, of Hot Springs, Virginia passed away Monday, April 06, 2020 at her residence.
She was born March 8, 1949 in Bel Air, Maryland, the daughter of the late Woodrow Herbert Carpenter and Helen Gay Williams Carpenter.
Mrs. Harvey was formerly employed with the Springs Nursing Center where she worked as a CNA. Later she did Home Health for various agencies in Highland County. She then moved to Bath County so that she could care for her mother for over 16 years.
She attended Eden United Methodist Church, Star Bolar United Methodist Church and the Monterey Baptist Church. She was a writer and enjoyed writing poetry for her grandchildren, who were her greatest joy in life. She loved to watch Gunsmoke. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She is survived by three children, Tammy Ryder and husband Charles, Jr. of Hot Springs, Pamela Ugan & husband Stephen of Atlanta, Georgia, Amanda Harvey of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania; seven grandchildren; one great grandchild; a brother; Donnie Carpenter & friend Gloria Robbins of Ocala, Florida; a sister; Janice Lockhart & friend Bill Restivo of Florida and Canada; and a special friend and caregiver, Clinton Burks of Hot Springs.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Dennis Carpenter.
A graveside service will be conducted 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 11, 2020 at the Warm Springs Cemetery with Pastor Lorrie Aikens officiating.
