The Covington City Municipal Pool is set to open for the summer on Monday.
The pool will be open Monday through Sunday from 12 noon to 5 p.m.
The pool will operate under the mandates of Gov. Ralph Northam, as well as CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) guidelines.
The pool will be able to operate at 75 percent capacity which is only 150 patrons in the facility at a time. Once the limit has been reached the entrance to the pool will be closed. This will be on a first-come, first-serve basis.
The guidelines listed below will be followed. Patrons are asked to review the guidelines before to visit the pool.
• There will be a limit of 150 people to have access to the pool during the day at a time. The 150-person limit will be in effect for most of, if not all of, the 2020 pool season.
• Employees that are working will be required to wear masks. The only exception will be guards on the stand.
• Patrons are asked to have a mask on when entering and while moving around the deck and in the bathhouse.
The only exception is lounging or sitting in the particular areas that patrons are seated Once patrons pick their respective seats, they will be required to stay in that spot until they leave.
• Chairs will be spaced out to keep a 10 foot distance. Patrons are asked to not slide lounge chairs, chairs or tables together.
• Patrons are asked to keep a 10-foot distance from others as they enter and exit the bathhouse
• Temperatures of everyone, including employees, will be checked as they enter the pool
• There will be a waiver for each patron, visitor and employees to sign when they enter the pool. This will also include pool parties. No child under the age of 18 will have access to the pool without waiver being signed first.
• Bathrooms will be limited to three people at a time. The only exception will be for a parent with a small child that must be attended to.
• There will be staff that will help with sanitizing the high touch areas at the facility.
• Patrons are asked to keep the 10-foot social distancing on the deck and in the pool as much as possible.
• Toys, noodles or any other items, excluding medical items, will not be distributed to the public during this time.
All regulations listed above will be strictly enforced. Failure to adhere will result in removal from the pool for the remainder of the 2020 season.
