Officials have identified William Brandon Wright 41-year-old Clifton Forge resident as the victim in the Jefferson Avenue suspicious death investigation.
At approximately 1:30 p.m. on April 27, 2020, Clifton Forge Police Department responded 907 Jefferson Ave for a well-being check. Officers spotted a male subject lying on the floor. They then made forcible entry into the dwelling and determined the male was deceased.
Clifton Forge Police Department has asked the Virginia State Police, Bureau of Criminal Investigation, (Salem Division) to assist in the Investigation.
Kenneth C. Staples, 41, of Lagrange, Ga. has been identified as a person of interest in the suspicious death.
Staples is believed to be driving a stolen White Ford F-150, crew cab, displaying an Alabama Registration of 43KM137.
The investigation has determined that there is no danger to the citizens of Clifton Forge. If anyone has information regarding this matter, please contact the Alleghany Sheriff’s Office at 540-965-1770, ext 1 and ask to speak to Investigator Ledford with the Clifton Forge Police Department.
