At the Alleghany County School Board meeting held this evening, Alleghany County Superintendent, Eugene Kotulka announced his retirement.
Kotulka’s retirement will be effective immediately September 30th, 2020.
The announcement came after the Alleghany County School Board approved a revised budget for 2020-21 that removed money for a compensation increase that Kotulka said the board agreed to give as part of his new contract.
He had planned to retire June 30, 2021.
Kotulka came to Alleghany County in 2015 from Orange County.
We will have more information in the next edition of the Virginian Review, Saturday, June 27th.
