James Richmond

James Donald Richmond, 75, of 3616 Dunlap Creek Road died Wednesday, July 29, 2020 at Lewis Gale Medical Center in Salem.
Mr. Richmond was born August 1, 1944, in Alleghany County a son of the late James V.  Morris and Sadie Richmond Bowen.   
In addition to his parents, he was  preceded in death by his first wife, Diane Leigh Richmond, in 2014.
He had retired as a mechanic with Bacova Guild. He was a member of Dunlap Christian Church and the Moss Run Hunt Club. He was a former member of the Covington Lodge #610, Loyal Order of Moose.
Surviving are his wife, Juanita Armentrout Richmond, of Covington;  three daughters and sons-in-law, Wendy and Lenny Vail,  Tracy and Bobby Davis, Jr., and Angela and Jonny Osbourne all of Covington; two step-daughters, Leslie Hempler, of Pennsylvania and Kelly Tyree and her husband, Eric, of Clifton Forge; two sisters, Jean Martin and June Ross, of Covington; 11 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, August 1, 2020, at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of Arritt Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Atkins officiating.
Interment will be made in Fletcher Chapel Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Bobby Davis,III,  James Davis, John Davis, Anthony Davis, Jacob Davis, Domick Davis, Gage Vail, Peyton Vail and Ashton Vail. 
Honorary pallbearers will be Timmy Lewis, Bruce Bazzarea and David Watts.
The family will receive their friends Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Arritt Funeral Home.
The family suggests that donations in his name be made to the American Heart Association, 4217 Park Place Court, Glen Allen, Va. 23060.
