Evelyn Theresa Key Broady, age 87, of 724 Verge Street, Clifton Forge, Virginia died Saturday, August 22, 2020 at Lewis Gale Medical Center in Salem.
She was born November 27, 1932 in Clifton Forge to the late William “Willie” and Theressa Viola Peters Key.
She was a retired chef for the Former Chesapeake and Ohio Restaurant and the former H. O. Canfield.  She was a member of First Baptist Church of Clifton Forge, where she served faithfully on the Usher Board and the Hospitality Committee.  She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Phyllis Wheatley Chapter and the Stitch and Chatter Club.  She loved cooking and watching game shows on television.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Thelma Key Brown; a brother, Joe Lewis Key; and a grandson, B. J. Banks.
She is survived by three daughters, Betty J. Liggins of Roanoke, Diane Banks of Lynchburg and Wanda Broady-Qaiser-Hartman of Salem; a god-son, Raymond Lewis of Roanoke; three sisters, Geraldine Allen and husband Donald of Clifton Forge, Catherine Godfrey of Clifton Forge and Carolyn Allen and husband William of Iron Gate; a brother, Richard Maxwell “Moose” Key of Clifton Forge; two grandchildren, LaSandra R. LIggins and Majid Qaiser and wife Elizabeth; two great grandchildren, Jaiden Qaiser and Zoe Qaiser; and a host of nieces and nephews.  The family would like to say a special thank you to Beatrice Smith, Rodney Brown, Rod Brown, Don Brown, Barry Banks and Gregory Key.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2020 at 1:00 PM in First Baptist Church of Clifton Forge with Reverend Roslyn Thomas, Reverend Arlene Cooper and Apostle Bobby Gleaton officiating.  
Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Clifton Forge.
The family will receive friends on Saturday afternoon from 12:00 PM until the time of service at the church.
In accordance with Virginia requirements, masks are respectfully required for those attending the visitation and service.
