The Sharon Ruritan Club in conjunction with the Burnside- Carpenter Post No 4299 of Veterans of Foreign Wars will be hosting a Memorial Day Celebration at the Sharon Baptist Church at noon on Monday, May 29th.
The VFW will conduct a short service including “The Empty Chair”, “Folding of the Flag”, and “Raising the Flag” with the playing of Taps.
Following the VFW program, the Sharon Ruritans invite all attending to join the VFW and the Ruritans to a simple luncheon, a time of fellowship, and an introduction to America’s White Table.
The Sharon Baptist Church is located at the end of Sharon Lane just past the Sharon Elementary School and at the intersection of McKinney’s Hollow Road and Riverland Road.
