LOW MOOR, VA – In the final matchup ever between the Bath County Chargers and the Alleghany Mountaineers on the boys’ soccer field, the Mounties not only ended a nine-match losing streak, but they also upset the Chargers at Mountaineer Field this past Wednesday.
As the duo has done all season long, Caiden Offer and Kamoy Stone, a solid one-two punch for the Chargers offense, had put the team in front 2-0.
With the Mounties recent struggles and the Chargers in front, one would assume that it was a lock for the Chargers to pick up the non-district victory.
Aly Jua’rez and the rest of the Mounties had other ideas. Jua’rez lifted the Mounties comeback with a hat-trick performance as he delivered another three-goal performance for the team, while Brenden Seckner added an insurance goal.
Frankie DeBoe who despite giving up four goals had a 16-save performance for the Chargers.
GOALS – BC: Turner, and Stone. AHS: Jua’rez 3, and Seckner
