Raymond Humphreys
Raymond Humphreys, age 81, of 111 Meadows of Wilson Court, Clifton Forge, Virginia went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at his residence.
Raymond was born July 19, 1941 in Clifton Forge to the late Calvin and Virginia Pace, and was adopted by his grandparents, the late Stonewall Jackson Humphreys and Ethel Lee Craft Humphreys. He retired from Kroger after 46 years in the Clifton Forge store, and continued to work for Northwest/True Value Hardware in Clifton Forge for another six years. He was a hard worker throughout his life and always enjoyed working in his yard and landscaping, as well as gardening, fishing, and hunting. He was an avid fan of the Boston Celtics and the Washington Commanders. He was a member of Central Advent Christian Church, and loved attending services there.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Ross Humphreys of Clifton Forge; a son, Robert “Bobby” Humphreys of Cloverdale; two daughters, Teresa Humphreys Windsor of Cloverdale and Cheryl Humphreys McWilliams and husband Jeff of Staunton; a grandson, Adrian Windsor; and a good friend, Robert Long.
A graveside funeral service will be held on Friday, March 24, 2023 at 2:00 p. m. in the Central Advent Christian Cemetery with Reverend Gene Ayers and Mr. Mitch Vess officiating. Interment will immediately follow. The family will receive friends at Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge on Friday afternoon from 1:00 p. m. until the time of service at the cemetery.
