William D. Howard
William D. Howard a former resident of Covington, VA passed away July 13, 2022, in Reno, NV with his family by his side. He was the eldest son of the late Garnett and Gladys Howard.
He was a North Pole, AK resident for 54 years. Having served in the U.S. Army for 22 years. He served in the Korean and Vietnam war (twice). He retired at Fort Wainwright, AK and made Alaska his permanent home.
Sadly missed and left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Ava, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Surviving siblings are Wayne Howard, Berkley Howard, Yvonne Lewis and Janet Austin.
A memorial service will be held at Alleghany Memorial Park, on March 20th at 1:00 p. m. with military rites by VFW Post 1033. Mary Hepler, special friend will be officiating. Following the service family and friends will gather at the VFW Post 1033.
