Jonathan Tyree Bostic, age 65, of 737 Alta Vista Road, Ronceverte, West Virginia died Tuesday, February 14, 2023, at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center, Fairlea, West Virginia.
He was born March 13, 1957, in Ronceverte, West Virginia to the late Elwood Tyree Bostic and Sarah Ann Shires Bostic Young. He was a retired operator for 43 years at Ingevity Corp in Covington. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church, Covington and a member of Elizabeth Chapel, Ronceverte. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, UVA and Washington football, and most of all, loved spending time with his family and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Lillian Ann Barnett Bostic; a son, Jonathan Bostic, both of Ronceverte; a sister, Rebecca Perkins and husband, Wayne of Covington; two brothers, Gordon Bostic and wife, Susan of New Jersey, and Tim Bostic and wife, Susan of Fincastle; a sister-in-law, Rhonda Smith and husband, Mark; five grandchildren, Autumn, Garrett, Izabella, Makenna, Logan; and a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2023, at 2:00 PM in Faith Baptist Church, Covington with Reverend Billy Price and Reverend Andy Belanger officiating. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Covington. Pallbearers will be Ben Perkins, Kyle Bostic, Doug Shires, John Fitzgerald, Harry Persinger, Kevin Hazelwood, and Shannon Crawford. Honorary pallbearers will be David Vest and Greg Bantley. The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM until time of service at Faith Baptist Church.
The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society, 2840 Electric Road, Suite 106A Roanoke, Virginia 24018.
