Mrs. Patty Ward Lipes, 70, of Covington, died Wednesday, January 20.  
Mrs. Lipes was born May 13, 1950, in Virginia, the daughter of the late James Orvil Ward and Katherine Atkins Ward.  
She was a homemaker who loved taking care and spending time with her family.
Mrs. Lipes is survived by two daughters, Michele Angle and husband Bobby and Kathy Hiner and husband Shane; six grandchildren, Justin Lipes, Ashley Angle, Brandon Lipes, Kolby Hiner, Shane “Bubba” Hiner II and Dakota Lipes; three great-grandchildren, Noah, Annastaisa and Christopher Jackson; her stepmother, Mildred Ward; her brothers and sisters, Elizabeth Trout and husband John, Judy Redden and husband Richie, James Ward Jr. and wife Deanna, Dwayne Ward and wife Crystal, Kathy Zuna and husband Jamie and Yolanda Ward; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Lipes was preceded in death by her son, William “Allen” Lipes III.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 24, from the chapel of Loving Funeral Home with the Rev. Shane Hiner officiating.
