Want Dirigible To Fly Over Covington
Although it appears doubtful of accomplishment, an effort is being made by businessmen of this city to have the giant navy airship “Shenandoah” pass over this city Saturday, when the airship will fly down the valley for which she is named. McCaleb, member of the House of Delegates, wired Virginia Senators last night, requesting that the Navy Department be urged to change the itinerary of the Shenandoah, so that it would be possible for her to fly over this city. Master Gardeners Educators
The Virginia Cooperative Extension is currently training a new class of Master Gardeners. Master Gardeners are educators throughout the community helping citizens to understand and better manage their landscapes, gardens and homes. On a recent field trip to Garst Mill Park in Roanoke, Master Gardeners learned about water quality and the importance of protecting natural resources. Instructor Sharon Stinette taught about watersheds, aquatic life, pollution, the monitoring process and its importance in helping to preserve resources in the community. Master Gardeners also teach waterwise programs in a variety of local venues.
