Julia Chapman Revercomb Bradley, age 96, of Myrtle Beach and formerly of Clifton Forge, Virginia died Tuesday, August 30, 2022, NHC Long Term Health Care Center, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina where she was a resident for the past four years and received wonderful care and love from the staff.
She was born February 8, 1926, in Clifton Forge, Virginia to the late Horace Austin Revercomb and Helen Judson Massie Revercomb. She received her education in Clifton Forge schools and at Farmville State Teachers College. She was employed early in her life with the West Virginia State Budget Office and was a niece of Gov. and Mrs. Clarence W. Meadows of Charleston. Following this, she was a homemaker throughout her life. Julia was a member of Central United Methodist Church, a member of the Clifton Forge Women’s Club, a past president of the Women’s Golf Association at Cliftondale Country Club, and a member of the Virginia Tech Hokie Club. She was very active with the Clifton Forge High School Alumni Association as well as Meals on Wheels. She loved life, bowling, golf, playing bridge, her trips to Myrtle Beach, spending time at the Cowpasture River, traveling to Virginia Tech football games and spending time with family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Holyman Bradley; a son, Robert “Bobby” Bradley, Jr.; a brother, Honorable Horace A. Revercomb, Jr.; and a sister, Elizabeth Revercomb Starke Anton.
She is survived by a son, David Ryals Bradley and wife Denice of Myrtle Beach; a daughter-in-law, Mary Jane “M.J.” Bradley of Fredericksburg, VA; four grandchildren, Austin Bradley (Jaclyn), Kirstin Slater (Mathew), Tyler Bradley, Kimberly Glover; two great-grandchildren, Breckin Bradley and Bentley Glover; two step-grandchildren (Clara and Tyler) a number of nieces and nephews; as well as many close friends including, Jean Ann Manner and her family.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 5, 2022, at 12:00 Noon in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Reverend Lynn Wright officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Clifton Forge. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends attending the service. The family will receive friends from 10:30 AM until the time of service at Nicely Funeral Home.
