The Alleghany Mountaineers golf team picked up their second win of the season following a 156-227 victory over the Covington Cougars on Monday at the Cliff View Golf Course.
Carter Wickline put together a great performance on the green for the Mountaineers as he finished the match with a 2-under-par to finish with a 34. Not far behind Wickline was Chase DePriest who finished 2-over-par at 38 for the match.
Rounding out for the Mountaineers was Cadiz Marshall who finished with a 40, while Haden Spinks shot a 34, and Lane Crawford and Kai Rowland each shot a 51.
The Cougars were led by Landon Arritt who shot a team best 50 for the match. Dylan Stull and Brayden Herald finished the outing with a 57 and 58. Miguel Johnson and Isaiah Hubble rounded out for the Cougars with a 63 and 69.
The Cougars are back at Cliff View Golf Course today at 4:30 p.m along with the Bath County Chargers.
Meanwhile, the Mountaineers have a few days off before their next golf match which takes place this Monday at Hanging Rock Golf Course in Salem, Va. This is a Three Rivers District match that includes; Carroll County, Floyd County, James River (Buchanan), Radford, and Glenvar.
