Sweet Springs, WV (VR) – The Sweet Springs Park, along with other businesses, will be honoring the families/survivors of all MIA/POW Armed Forces Units along with Veterans on September 17, 2022 by inviting Motorcyclists and owners of Antique Cars from 4 different states, local government representatives, local business people, Veterans, and you to attend an Honor Rally here at the Sweet Springs Park.
It will be a day filled with fun, food, and showing honor to the families and survivors that gave all to protect our freedoms. It would be great if Monroe, Summers and Greenbrier Counties attended and showed support to these very important people.
There are things that are planned and could use your assistance:
(1) Donate a large and small MIA/POW flag. We will need at least 10 large and 30 small.
(2) Get donations from your neighbors and surrounding businesses for donation to the local MIA/POW Support Group. This is very important.
(3) Enter the Cookoff. It is a $5.00 entry fee and once judged we will sell the dishes with all proceeds going to the local MIA/POW Support Group. Catagories are:
(a) 1 dish Entree’
(b) Appitizers
(c) Cookies
(d) Pies
(e) Cakes
(4) Be a vendor. We need Vendors that sell:
(a) Motorcycle Items
(b) Antique Car Items
(c) Flags, hats, shirts, pins, etc., for each Armed Force Unit
(d) Jewelry
(e) Oddities
(f) Rocks/Crystals
(g) CBD
(h) Art and Hand-made crafts
and others – please contact sweetspringsassistant@gmail.com or text 304-661-1747 to register for the cookoff and to be a vendor.
(5) Local Businesses can donate gift items and/or raffle items. We will need several nice gift items for various activities. Remember you are giving these items to show your support of the people that have fought and died so you have the freedom to own a business. Contact sweetspringsassistant@gmail.com or text 304-661-1747 for arrangements to pick up your donation. A list of all businesses that donate will be handed out at the event and will be placed in the news after the event is over. Make sure your name is on that list.
(6) Rustic Camping will be available for Friday and Saturday nights. You can camp one or both nights. Both nights is $10.00 a tent, and 1 night is $7.00 a tent. Campers are welcome. There will be no hook-ups, but water is available.
