Matthew Todd “Mowgli” Walton, age 31, of 207 Circle H. Lane, Clifton Forge, Virginia died Sunday, August 7, 2022 at his residence.
Mowgli was born January 10, 1991 in Roanoke, Virginia to Jennifer Haines Walton and Daniel Todd Walton. He greatly enjoyed traveling and his second home was outdoors wherever he happened to be. He loved the time he spent kayaking and collecting river stones, especially on the Cowpasture River. He also loved art, painting, and playing music as well as his pets and any stray animal he may find. He was especially known for his sense of humor, quick wit, and kindness. He was also known to greet friends and family with a flower or rock with a cheerful story.
He is survived by his loving family: Mother, Jenn Walton of Clifton Forge; Father, Danny Walton of Roanoke; Sister, Courtney Walton of Vermont; Grandparents, Mary Ellen “Maga” Haines, Brenda Burkholder, Karen Morris, David Haines and wife Kristie, and Alice Walton; Uncles, Wayne Walton of Clifton Forge and Dale Martin of Roanoke; Aunts, Jessica Orth of Richmond, Aerile Christ of Nashville, Rachel Moore of Nashville, Julie Harb of Chesapeake, Amanda Kassab of Lynchburg, and Amanda Haugen of Las Vegas, NV; as well as all of his friends.
In keeping with his family’s wishes, his body has been cremated. A time of visitation will be held for friends and family to celebrate Mowgli’s life on Saturday, August 13, 2022 from 2:00pm until 4:00pm at Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge.
