LOW MOOR (VR) — With summer upon us, it is time to think about options for children to eat healthfully when school is out. Alleghany Highlands Public Schools will provide free meals to children during the summer from July 5-July 21, Monday through Thursday.
Meals are provided on a first-come, first-serve basis at the sites listed below:
Edgemont Primary School, breakfast 8 to 9 a.m.; lunch 11 a.m. to 12 noon.
Mountain View Elementary School, breakfast 8 to 9 a.m.; lunch 11 a.m. to 12 noon.
Sharon Elementary School, breakfast 8 to 9 a.m.; lunch 11 a.m. to 12 noon.
Clifton Forge Fire House, lunch only 11 a.m. to 12 noon.
Children in the Alleghany Highlands are being encouraged to stop by for meals. Meals will be prepared to be consumed on premises in accordance with U.S. Department of Agriculture regulations. Meals will also be provided to all children in a non-discriminatory manner. Anyone age 18 or younger can come and eat. There are no income or registration requirements.
