Donald Wayne “Don Don” Kirby Sr., 46 of 2914 S. Greenway Dr., died, Tuesday, May 24, 2022, at Chippenham Hospital in Richmond.
Mr. Kirby was born on June 22, 1975, in Alleghany County a son of Peggy Smith “Penny” Wells.
He was employed at the Excel Truck Group as a shop foreman and a member of Good News Christian Fellowship. He enjoyed being with family, cooking and was an avid Virginia Tech Fan.
In keeping with his wishes, his body has been cremated.
In addition to his mother and Stepfather Robert Wells of Covington he is survived by his wife Amy Hatcher Kirby; one daughter Ashlie Kirby of Raleigh, NC; two sons Chris Kirby-Lewis and Donald Kirby Jr. both of Covington; a step-daughter Kaylee “French-Fry” Deaner of Kill Devil Hill; two stepsons Michael Callahan and Joshua Deaner both of Covington; six grandchildren; a sister Lisa Horton and husband Greg of Clifton Forge; two stepsisters Sharon Wells of Clifton Forge and Theresa Perdue and husband Jay of Covington; a stepbrother Doug Wells of Millboro; two aunts Pam Evan and husband Wayne of Selma and Kay Stull and husband Eugene of Covington; and an uncle Tom Smith and wife Diane of Covington; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A private celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
The family suggests memorial donations be made in Mr. Kirby’s name be made to the Good New Christian Fellowship at 331 W. Main St. Covington, VA 24426.
The funeral arrangements are being handled by Arritt Funeral Home.
