For the second time this season, the Floyd County Buffaloes, got the better of the Alleghany Mountaineers, as the Buffaloes won a Tuesday boys tennis match over the Mounties 7-2.
Despite a strong performance in singles play, the Mounties fell short Three Rivers District victory.
The Mounties had three singles match losses separated by three points or less.
Baron Leitch, continued his sensation senior season as he picked his 11th singles win, while also collecting his 10th victory of the season in doubles. Leitch went over 8-1 in singles, while he and Maddox Crance continued to shine as a team as they improved to 6-1 as a pair.
While Crance, Coree Nicely, and Eli Entsminger, each lost, they put up strong performances.
The Buffaloes edged the Mounties 6-3 the last time they played back on April 14th.
There are two regular season matches to go for the Mounties before the region tournament begins. Weather permitting, the Mounties will be on the road against the Glenvar Highlanders.
