The C&O Railway Heritage Center will hold a fundraising event: The George Washington Modeling Expo. This event will take place at the C&O Railway Heritage Center at 705 E Main St. in Clifton Forge, VA. The dates are Saturday, February 19thth from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. & Sunday, February 20th from 12 p.m. – 4 p.m. Admission is $5.00 and includes entrance to the C&O Railway Heritage Center/Museum.
Expo Highlights:
· Several model vendors in the back of the museum will be selling O, S, HO, and N Scale Models. Come visit them and see what great deals they have available!
· Come see the progression of the C&O Railway Heritage Center Mural project and meet the artist William Jennings. The mural is being painted on the retaining wall it will be approximately 200 feet in length covering 2400 square feet. The painting will feature a C&O H-8 Allegheny Locomotive pulling a train. The artist will be on location and will have other C&O art pieces for sale.
C&OHS O-scale layout team members Scott Cyrus and Jeremy Ferrell from West Virginia will be present showcasing large-scale model trains. They will be running the museum’s model layout of the C&O Railway’s route and showcasing equipment representative of the 1940s through the Chessie System era.
The C&OHS T-Trak modular group will be showcasing members’ custom-built modules from several states, including C&OHS member Craig Laing’s detailed module of Prince, WV, and C&OHS member Doug Andre’s new module of Handley, WV as well as Nuttall in the New River Gorge. This rapidly-expanding group for N-scale modelers continues to gain traction and wishes to educate additional C&O modelers of N-scale of the possibilities of T-Trak and how small modules can be combined during train shows to form large layouts.
N-Scale Layout and hands-on demonstrations at the Heritage Center train depot by C&OHS member and crowd favorite Dale Perry. Come see a variety of specially-imported Kato passenger sets running throughout the day and hear industry information first hand as Dale demonstrates his catalog of N-scale equipment from around the world for visitors of all ages.

February 19th at 11:00 AMTitle: Shrinking It Down: Modeling Prince, West Virginia Using an N Scale T-TRAK Module Description: This presentation will provide insights into the process of taking a real place, in this case the area around the Prince, West Virginia C&O station, and building an accurate scale model of it using the T-TRAK modular system.
